You are the product of everything that has happened to you up until this point.
The injuries you’ve sustained, the work you’ve performed, the babies you’ve carried, the stresses and traumas you’ve been through can all leave their mark. Throughout our life we adapt our habits of behaviour, movement and even our expectations of ourselves in response to what we go through.
We are literally ‘connected’ from head to toe, inside and out, mind and body. How we behave habitually, impacts how we feel and perform.
Our amazing ability to adapt and change is how we learn and compensate. This is great, but sometimes our habitual compensations can actually reduce our movement options and contribute to sites of stress over time. This is when you experience unpleasant symptoms or impaired performance. Our usual movement may not feel so good, and our quality of life may start to suffer.
When you suddenly experience a freedom of movement that is completely comfortable and easy, it is very motivating to do the work to make it last.

How it works
Assessment is individual to the client. After listening to your story and through specific hands on movement analysis, we ‘find your Driver’.
Initially, treatment is directed at the Driver and ‘un-learning’ of poor habits. We then practice new, more optimal habits with progressive movement variety and loading.
Live empowered. Predict, prevent, and manage any re-occurring niggles. Thus you can make wise exercise choices that keep you doing what you love.
Why Brightside Physio
Do you assume that the discomfort or limitations you have, are what you’re stuck with?
At Brightside Physio, we connect with our clients to understand their beliefs, expectations and goals. We use a systematic ‘whole person’ assessment process called ConnectTherapy™, developed by Canadian Physiotherapist, International lecturer and researcher Dr Linda-Joy Lee.
Passion for her work led to Paula qualifying as 1 of 4 Certified Practitioners of ConnectTherapy™ in the UK. She has 20 years’ experience as a Chartered Physiotherapist within the NHS and private setting in both the UK and abroad. Advanced assessment and treatment skills mean you’ll become informed and empowered with a bespoke exercise program that serves to ‘Target the Cause and Train the Change’.
We understand that symptoms can also bring fear; loss of mobility, sleep, hobbies and independence. No one wants to give up their passions, rely on pain medication or have surgery unnecessarily. When the cause of symptoms is addressed and focus is not solely on the resultant site of pain, lasting change can occur.
Treatment at Brightside Physio is not a passive process, it takes commitment and effort from both parties, but with such, results can be life changing.
